Material and method
Two groups of runners (six athletes each) trained uniformly according to plans drawn up by training expert and Running employee Peter Maisenbacher. One group also practiced with the FaceFormer. The training progress of the participants was checked with the help of two lactate level tests, which were carried out on the treadmill seven weeks apart.
Results
The training aimed at improving basic endurance showed clear success in the group that also trained with the FaceFormer: at the aerobic threshold (2.0 mmol lactate per liter), the participants were able to increase their speed by 36.4 percent. The control group only increased by 1.08 percent. At the same time, the heart rate at this threshold fell by 6.56 percent, compared to 0.75 percent in the control group.
